Duration of Elected Officers
A Nomination Committee will be chosen by the members
Nominations will be held in September / Elections in November
Positions are held from January until December
Officers will be sworn in at the January meeting
All Offices will be for 2 year terms
President & Recording Secretary will be elected in odd years
Vice President & Treasure will be elected in even years
To be Elected to an Office members must be in club for at least 2 years
If the reigning V.P. decides to run for President and should lose,
the former office is retained.
Appointed Positions
Membership Committee (2 members)
Projects Coordinators (2 member)
These positions shall be appointed by the Officers and but must be approved by a vote by the membership.
Vacancy of the President’s Office
If the office of the President should become open, the Vice President will have the option to fill the vacancy. The members will determine filling the Vice Presidents office.
Participating Awards
In the event of “Down the Road Cruisers” should win a Participate (Plaque/Trophy) award at a car show, a member who participates at that show may be given the award. The officers will decide who to present it to (someone who didn’t get award at that show).
Actions of Membership
Members are expected to participate and conduct themselves in an appropriate and respectful manner when representing the club in or at any event. Any conduct that would embarrass or jeopardize the good name of the club could result in dismissal. Action to be voted on by the membership.
Requirements of the Membership
New Members:
Must be sponsored by a club member.
Proposed members must be introduces to membership at club meeting by sponsored member.
A six month probation period will be required.
After 6 month probation proposed member will become a member and will be presented with car placard and name badge.
After probation period members have the opportunity to purchase club gear.
All members:
Dues paid on time.
Displays a positive attitude with and for the club.
Helping at shows and Cruise nights/Cruise to shows together.
Members must have a valid drivers license.
Members vehicle(s) must meet state requirements (tag, insurance, etc.) where applicable.
Membership is open to all vehicles and years.
To be able to vote for club officers and any major decisions, you must be a “Voting Member” and to attain that status you must meet the following requirements:
Participates in club activities(4 meetings, 3 cruise nights, participating award shows).
Name tags will be issued to all members. It is requested that they be worn at meetings so that new members can learn our names and we can more quickly learn theirs. It is not mandatory that you wear them, it is however requested for the benefit of new members.
