Meeting Minutes, February 13, 2020
President Charlie Rohrer called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Treasurer Craig Marvill gave the financial report, opening balance $1300.25. There was a $500.00 expense to the VE Club for our March banquet and $225.00 in dues was paid in, making the closing balance $1025.25. It was noted that dues, $25.00, are due from each member by the banquet in March; several members paid dues at this meeting.
Regarding the banquet, it will be held on Saturday, March 14 from 6:00 to 10:00 PM at the VE Club, 130 Davisville Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Entrees are Seafood Newburg or Chicken Marsala. The cost is $25.00 per person. We need to have at least 30 people attending and we need to provide a head count to VE by March 5. Please RSVP to Charlie Rohrer, firstname.lastname@example.org, before March 5.
It was noted at the January meeting that our cruise night flyer doesn’t mention our food drive. That is because we will put out a flyer just for the food drive in July and August so the topic is fresh in the minds of those who patronize our cruise nights. In other cruise night news, Gary, our DJ will be paid $100.00 in advance for his services at our cruise nights and another $100.00 in October if he shows up at all of them.
Regarding our Cool Cars in the School Yard show co-sponsored with the Willow Grove Lions Club, Ed Plazek has gotten sponsorships from Glanzmann Subaru, Performance Auto Sales and Service (full page ads,) the King Agency and Riviera D’Italia Restaurant (1/4 page ads.) David DeBalko reported that the Yard House in the Willow Grove Mall is willing to donate a gift basket for the show. Numerous ideas were brought up regarding classes at the show. It was agreed that cars from the year 2000 and up should be judged separately from cars 1999 and older. So we will have two broad classes. It was suggested that the 1999 and below class be further divided into stock and custom cars to compete for the Best Stock Trophy (Don Magee Award) and the Best Custom Trophy (to be newly-named in memory of Fred Moffa.) The Top 50 trophies could be divvied up depending on the numbers of pre- and post-2000 model year cars on the show field. We will still have awards for Best Motorcycle (the Smitty Award) and peer voting for the People’s Choice Award.
